Tick everything that's true about the shop you're evaluating. Your verdict appears below.

• Realistic pricing. No 50%+ discounts, no "$799 full-size silicone" fantasy prices, no permanent countdown timers.
• Named brands with proof. The shop names the factory (WM, Irontech, Zelex, Starpery…) — and that factory's official site lists them as an authorized reseller, or confirms it when you email.
• Factory-photo policy in writing. They send photos of your actual doll from the factory before dispatch, and only ship after you approve.
• Buyer-protected payment. PayPal or a credit card is accepted. (Wire transfer, crypto or gift cards only = walk away.)
• Review pattern looks organic. Reviews mention specifics and include complaints that got resolved. All-5-star walls and "Invited" reviews don't count.
• Real contact surface. A physical address, a responsive human on email/chat with coherent answers about lead times and customs.
• Honest lead times. Made-to-order dolls quoted at 2–8 weeks. A site claiming everything is "in stock, ships today" at factory prices is drop-shipping fiction.
• Consistent product photos. Photos match the official factory catalog; no watermarks cropped out, no mixed lighting/backgrounds suggesting stolen images.
• Clear policies. Written shipping, customs, cancellation and defect policies — before checkout, not after.
• Domain history. The domain is more than a year old (check any WHOIS lookup). Scam shops churn new domains constantly.

Instant disqualifiers (any one = leave)

• Only bank wire, Western Union, crypto or gift cards. No legitimate doll vendor refuses buyer-protected payment.
• Prices roughly half of every other shop. See the rule above — that's a counterfeit signal, not a bargain.
• They refuse pre-shipment factory photos. The single strongest predictor of "the doll won't match the pictures."
• Photos answer to reverse-image search on other sites. Stolen catalog images are the counterfeit starter kit.
• Anything childlike anywhere in the catalog. Illegal in most jurisdictions and a marker of criminal operations. Leave and report.

After delivery: verify authenticity

Major factories run anti-counterfeit systems — for example, WM Doll ships a scratch-card authenticity code you verify on the factory's official website. If you ordered a brand-name doll, use the factory's checker on arrival day, while your payment-dispute window is fresh.

Already scammed? Your real recourse

1. Stop talking, start documenting. Screenshot the listing, your order, all chats. Vendors that stall with "please wait, remake coming" are running out your dispute clock.
2. PayPal: open a dispute — you have 180 days from payment. Escalate to a claim; "item significantly not as described" fits counterfeit dolls exactly.
3. Credit card: file a chargeback with the same evidence. Don't accept a partial-refund-for-5-star-review deal — that's review extortion, and you lose your leverage.
4. Report the shop to the FTC (US), your card network, and warn others in owner communities.
