What a doll actually costs โ€” from 33 live listings, not vibes

Every price guide in this category gives a range like "$100 to $10,000", which is true and useless. We recorded the price, height and weight of every full-size doll and torso our scraper could reach at one vetted vendor โ€” 42 products after cleaning โ€” and banded what came back. Here is the shape of real pricing, including the band that does not exist.

The headline finding: zero of the 33 full-size dolls were under $1,000. The floor was $1,099, the median $1,749, the top $2,659. Remember that number the next time a marketplace listing offers a "full-size premium doll" for $299 โ€” you now know what band it claims to be in, and that the band is empty at vendors a factory will vouch for.

The bands, from the data

BandListingsWhat it buysWeight reality
$209โ€“$379 5 torsos The honest entry point: factory-made torsos, 13โ€“32 lb Liftable with one arm; fits a drawer or case
$799โ€“$1,700 4 torsos Large 140 cm-class torsos, 62โ€“84 lb As heavy as some complete dolls โ€” check before assuming "torso = light"
$1,099โ€“$1,499 5 full-size Compact full-size, 148โ€“151 cm 55โ€“73 lb
$1,500โ€“$2,659 28 full-size The main market: 140โ€“173 cm, every build 43โ€“126 lb โ€” height barely predicts it; build does
Under $1,000, full-size 0 Empty at a vetted vendor. This band is where counterfeit listings live โ€” see below.

Recorded 2026-07-27 from live product pages at one vetted vendor (yourdoll.com); vendor-stated figures, not independently weighed; sale prices as shown that day. One $129 row was excluded because it turned out to be a hoodie โ€” the product page listed the spec table of the doll it fits, which is exactly how junk data becomes a fake "finding". Method and the full height/weight table: the weight chart.

Why the empty band matters more than the full ones

Factories set minimum pricing, and legitimate vendors sit roughly 10โ€“15% below factory list. That is why the space between "torso money" and "$1,099" contains nothing at a vetted shop โ€” the economics of licensed manufacture do not reach there. But marketplace and social-media listings advertise that band heavily, because it is exactly where an impulse purchase lives: enough to feel premium, little enough to skip the research.

What ships from that band, when anything ships at all, is a counterfeit cast from stolen photos, or an inflatable product photographed as a premium doll. This is not an inference from pricing theory; it is a recurring pattern in documented buyer complaints โ€” the same reports our Scam-Check was built from. If a listing claims full-size under $1,000, run it through the 10-point Scam-Check before paying โ€” and if it fails, the answer was free.

The sticker is not the cost

Whatever band you buy in, the first year adds to it. Care supplies run differently by material (TPE needs more), storage is real money if you do it properly, and import charges depend entirely on your country โ€” the US currently has no duty-free allowance at all, and nobody can honestly quote a US duty rate for a full-size doll because the tariff classification is unsettled. Put your own numbers into the True Cost Calculator; it keeps them in your browser.

And before any money moves: how you pay decides what recourse you keep. A credit card can carry statutory protection a bank transfer never will โ€” the payment recourse checker covers what survives after payment, with no affiliate links on that page.
